Tin Foil "Chrome" Rims

August 01, 2008 // 8 Comments  // Add yours »

Working in downtown New Haven means that my coworkers and I get to see a lot of unusual things going on outside of our window.  This past week, while working hard on revamping the company ecommerce site, we noticed a slightly unusual showroom customer pull into the parking lot.  Typically, the showroom customers appear to be well-off - coming in with BMW's or other types luxury vehicles.  The guy however, came in on a bike with custom tin-foil rims.   Mindy couldn't resist snapping a photo:

I think that is very cool.

I do wonder what inspired the person to painstakingly apply tinfoil to their spokes.

Sean,

I know it was you, and that your faux-chrome rims is really just a way to hint that you want a raise.

Nice try.

That's hilarious! We saw the same bike - - have you ever seen the guy on the uni-cycle?

Hmm... well there's a bike shop on chapel, I've seen them using a unicycle around there. Is that what you're talking about?

I see a guy at school unicycle around campus. Every time I see him I want to ask if I can have a turn. He'd probably say yes...

Mindy - You'll never know if you never try.
