The High School Days

My friends and I used to do some great stuff when we were younger. We need to bring back the days of the Riceminers. I've started putting the old videos up on YouTube and Riceminers.com still gets close to 100 hits a day... so I think I should start putting up new content again. I've been saying that for a while but it's been hard motivating people. So I might just go ahead with it on my own and see who joins in. Josh, Steve, Bobby, Nick, Shane, Chris, Justin, Kevin, and everyone else who used to be involved in some way... if you have any interest, let me know.
Here's "The Dream". It was put together using an old school camcorder, two vcr's, and a karaoke machine back in 2001.

Kevin Gets His Liscence

Kevin H. has passed his driving test and is now licensed to roam the streets in a vehicle of choice at will. Slightly scary, but I'm happy for him. I can't picture him behind the wheel. Hope he has better luck with cars than his brothers have had. Now I'm gonna go hide.
It's weird to think that it was seven years ago when I passed my test. Five years since Justin did. We shot a video for Riceminers back when Justin passed his. I remember that was a fun day. It was always Nick, Justin, Chris, Steve, and I roaming around somewhere in Nick's car with a video camera, blasting either Sublime or System of a Down. We'd usually end up at the post mall, McDonalds, Actors Colony, or KFC. Good times back then.

I dressed up as a black eyed pea, Steph wore a cardboard cutout of Justin's face, and Justin and Chris teamed up as two old men. It was good seeing all the Derbyites cuz I haven't gotten to hang out with them much lately.

More pics in the Newest Pics album.

Surge

I think Justin is drinking a Surge here. We used to love that stuff. Somewhere in CT is a tape Justin and I made with some friends back in the late 90's of our own Surge commercial. I've been trying hard to find it for years but with no luck. We really did some strange stuff back then. I was wondering what happened to Surge and I came across SaveSurge.org. I guess Coke stopped making it in 2002 but introduced a similar soda called Vault in 2005. Why do I care? I don't. I'm bored at work and this is what happens.

The Spanish Project

This is the infamous video called "The Spanish Project" which I made with Justin, Nick, Chris, and a few others back in high school for my Spanish class. It's terrible, makes no sense, but it's pretty funny. Hope you enjoy it. Sorry for the low quality, the tapes pretty worn down.

Came across this video made by my lil bro's friend Kris while checking out TomGreen.com. It reminds of George Michael on Arrested Development.
Then I came across another video, that includes my lil brother and it's shot inside my house.

Update And A Video
November 19, 2005 //

FINALLY received my camera today after two months of it being in repair. This was a crazy day. I won a parking pass from Southern so I get to park in the faculty parking lot for a month. Then I kicked some ass on a quiz, went to my paper shredding job, hit up the gym, went to work at the Yale School of Architecture for 2 hours, went to a work party in Hamden, ate some pizza, and then hung out with some friends at my place, drank some beer, and watched the debate over the Iraq war on C-Span.
Then just as I thought the day was over, I got a call from my friend Nicole who had run out of gas on the highway and needed help. So me, my brother, and Nugget grabbed a tank of gas and went for a drive. It's about 10 degrees outside and we were stuck out there for a good half hour, so I got fed up and left. Now I'm wired, full of pizza, and have a full day of NOTHING to do tomorrow. It's a great feeling. I'm thinking about headed to NYC for the day. But if I don't I'll find something else good to do, so check back Saturday night for pics.
Here's a Beatles video just for fun. It's the song Lady Madonna. Just click the picture to watch:

Here is a video I started on a camping trip in 2002 and finished up during the summer of 2003. Nick Moore is the person you see running throughout the video. It doesn't make much sense.. but it's worth a watch. Just click on the image below to watch the video:

Old Slideshow

Here's a video slideshow from my high school days. Sorry for the unfortunate choice in music... but if you know me or my friends you should find it enjoyable. Look closely and you'll see 3 of my future totalled cars, two of them in their final wrecked form, and 4 of my former places of employment. Justin has a mohawk, Nick has a full head of hair, and Steve Bailey still likes us. So much can change in just a couple of years. A lot of these pictures have been lost for good, so this video is the only copy of these images left. Just click the image below to watch the video:

Correction

I would like to make a correction to a previous post I made entitled "The Wait Staff". First of all, it is the "WaitStaff" not "Wait Staff" Secondly, I did not even make that post nor am I a member of "The WaitStaff". In fact, I have no knowledge of the identities of these vigilantes. That post was clearly made by an impostor that was pretending to be me.
However, I will gladly report on their activities.
Shane, congratulations on your first post.

WaitStaff?

I'd like to thank Sean Henri for inviting me as an author. However, more importantly, I'd like to personally deny any knowledge of this "waitstaff" he has mentioned in previous posts. I have never, and would never condone the actions of vigilantes running around town trying to "save" people. This is outlandish and I am personally offended to have been dragged into such childish games. The state of Connecticut has professionals to handle these situations and these vigilantes should be brought to justice.
Now that I've got that out of my system. I am very proud be apart of the revivial of Riceminers. Although I am completely against acts of vigilantism, I will gladly record their adventures and showcase them to the world.
I am also very excited to hopefully start and COMPLETE some new projects. Hopefully in the next year or so I will be able to get a hold of a more professional camera, but in the meantime will use all the resources currently available. Sean, Justin, and myself will gladly entertain the world.

A Riceminers Entertainment revival is underway - spawned by the Waitstaff. Soon you will see new videos, pictures, and buddy icons at Riceminers.com, as well as some other weird stuff. Whenever an update is made, you'll find out about it here. We will be sharing our ideas and upcoming projects on this blog as well. You can now get to this blog through the address: http://blog.riceminers.com as well as from the original address http://blog.seanhenri.com.
I'd like to welcome two new guest authors: Justin Henri and Shane Norton - both members of Riceminers Entertainment. I will also be adding a few more authors over time.

Riceminers.com

Riceminers.com was about 10 minutes away from being lost forever this morning. This past month I got stuck with a massive bill due to a huge surge in web traffic. I didn't think I could afford it this time around, but I came across some money at the last second. I don't know if many people realize that Riceminers costs me money to keep running. I really want to keep it up for years to come because I know people like going back and watching all the old videos. But unless some people start making some donations I might not be able to keep it running for much longer. You can donate money by clicking the "Make a Donation" button to the left of your screen. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New Pictures

I just added twenty-five new pictures to Riceminers.com so be sure to go over and check them out. For those that don't know, Riceminers is a website I run for Riceminers Entertainment - a group consisting of some friends and I that create videos every now and then in order to make complete fools of ourselves. I post pictures once in a while too since we are slow with the videos. We are currently working on two projects that we hope to put out sometime soon.
